Saw It For You: Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)

Tagline. To extinct dinosaurs… we became dinosaurs

Synopsis. Explorers and scientists return to the birthplace of Jurassic Park, seeking mutant dinosaur DNA which could lead to a cure for heart disease that doesn’t involve exercising.

Trivia

  • Tentative Titles. Jurassic World Planet, Jurassic World Planet: Resurrection, Jurassic World: Risen Sovereignty, The Loster World, Jurassic Park IV: IV

  • While certain visuals are clearly homage, only most of the concepts, situations, and shot-for-shot remakes are lazy references to Jurassic Park (1993).

  • To prepare for her role, Scarlett Johansson watched all six seasons of The Flintstones (1960), the show that the children’s vitamin is based on.

  • Character name “Martin Krebs” (Rupert Friend) is a nod to the Krebs cycle (aka the citric acid cycle) in cellular biology, as is the unicycle the character uses instead of walking.

  • Director’s Trademark. Wink accompanied by cork pop sound effect.

  • Practical effects were used to depict “Gabriel’s Horn,” the fabled triceratops horn of infinite length. The prop horn constructed for the movie is only nearly infinite.

  • “Rebirth” refers to both the reincarnation of the Jurassic franchise, and the dinosaur baptisms.

  • Post-Credit Scene. To balance out the majority of on-screen dinosaurs which incorrectly lack feathers, Rebirth introduces a species of dinosaur that is just feathers.

  • Director’s Trademark. Characters self-soothing by sucking their thumb or a friend’s thumb.

  • Rather than give a contrived in-plot reason why there is a child character tagging along, Rebirth updates the franchise’s canon, stating that every inGen research island “comes with a child.”

  • Uncredited Cameo. Jurassic Park (1993).

Mistakes

  • Earth’s equator is not “basically one big DNA.”

  • Continuity Mixup. After the plane crash destroys the power station, Zora (Johansson) exclaims “without electricity, the dinosaurs can’t escape!” She directly contradicts herself a second later when she says “Shit, sorry. Without electricity, the dinosaurs can escape!”

  • The K-T boundary is not “widely accepted” as yielding “incontrovertible proof of dinosaur sex crime.”

  • The reveal that oviraptors being capable of inventing and using tools does not explain their use of crucifixes.

  • The Coriolis effect would not be able to deglove a person’s face, even on a “haywire tilt-a-whirl.”

  • Incorrectly Regarded as Mistake. Dinosaurs were real.

  • Triceratops prorsus was not Jewish.

Memorable Quotes.

Zora Bennett. [This compsognathus] is still warm. It died recently.
Henry Loomis. Look at these markings, just above the trapezius.
